Rewild Woodland Adventure Holiday Camps

Rewild Woodland Adventure Holiday Camps are a great way for children aged 5 - 9 years to really get stuck into the outdoors during the main school holidays.

There is nowhere better for young children to be than immersed in natural woodland, no matter the season.

We are always sad to say goodbye to our nursery and Small School children as they head off to 'big' School, because we know that as they continue to grow they would benefit even more from our wonderful natural surroundings. So we are delighted to be once again offering Woodland Adventure Holiday Camps for Primary School children aged 5 - 9 years.

These Camps will run in weekly blocks throughout the core school holidays (see dates below). They are led by a qualified and experienced Forest School Leader, with an assistant, and are based at one of our Forest School Base Camps in our own private four-acre wood (which is set within the wider Colney Hall Estate).

Our Holiday Camp groups have access to a further 20 acres of the Colney Estate, including a large section of river meadow alongside the River Yare.

Maximum group size is 16.

A typical day looks like:
Drop-off between 8.30 and 9am at our 'Caravan Forest School Base Camp' adjacent to our main car park
Orientation & Safety Briefing under our Forest School Parachute Canopy.
Followed by an infinite number of: Woodland games, exploration, den-building, tree-climbing, flora and fauna ID, Forest School skills, including: fire-lighting, whittling and safe saw use, knots. Bug House construction, rope swing, climbing frame, natural creative projects, environmental awareness, mindfulness in nature, songs & stories around the camp fire.
There is ample time for snacks, drinks and lunch (usually around the camp fire). We have a toilet tent on-site.
The season, weather and group dynamics all play their part in making each day unique for the children. The children are outside for the whole day and appropriate outdoor clothing is essential (see Kit List below). If it is very wet there is a waterproof canopy over the Forest School Base Camp and we do have a caravan & tent to use if needed.

One of the many benefits of having a fixed group for each week is that the children really get to know each other. Woodland Adventure, which incorporates key elements of Forest School ethos, fosters self-esteem, inter-personal communication and a respect for others and the natural world - as well as being great fun.
