Watch our video

We believe young children have the ability to reach powerful levels of creative learning when their natural inquisitiveness is nurtured.

We searched for many years to find a natural environment that would enable us to bring our unique pedagogy to life.

Watch our video and meet some of our team! See how our Walled Garden and woodland, together with our yurts, tipis, stretch tents and buildings, combine to create a special setting. Here at TCG every child can discover the natural world around them supported by our dedicated team of educators, Forest School Teachers, artists, gardeners and cooks.

Our Approach

At The Children’s Garden, we have used our many decades of experience to create a unique pedagogy, blending the most valuable aspects of Montessori, the child-led approach of Reggio-Emilia and the confidence-building of Forest School.

Outdoor Learning

The natural world is the most valuable canvas for children's learning and development. Here at The Children’s Garden our staff and children live and breathe it daily and in all seasons, providing a myriad of Outdoor Learning opportunities.

Outdoor Learning

Our children enjoy daily access to our own 4-acre site as well as the wider woodland surrounding us - we are a in a green oasis!

Outdoor Learning

We have two Forest School basecamps and a wonderful zip wire in the woods as well as a network of paths, through Rhododendron and Bamboo, for the children to explore.
