Organ pipe bandstand ready for playing!

Our superbly creative Garden Educator, Carl, has created an amazing organ pipe bandstand for the children to use in our Walled Garden.

The Children's Garden was gifted a set of old wooden organ pipes from a church and we set Carl the challenge of turning them into something which the children could use and experiment with. He has come up trumps!

By cleverly using air pumps screwed to the floor, and connected to each pipe, the children can now make sounds with all the pipes - each one different. It is lovely to see how the children, even our younger ones, interact with such an alternative resource. Quite often, if you stayed in our car park, you can hear the sound of organ pipes being blown drifting across from the Walled Garden.
